The Opportunity
In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in engineering and design of the HVAC and plumbing systems in various @types of facilities.
?The HVAC Team is engaged in the following:
Design and Construction Activities
Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
Facility Types - Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures and Energy Storage buildings.
Systems - HVAC and Plumbing.
Type of Areas - Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Studies
Energy Audit/Efficiency - Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations
Code Review/Application - Facility review for code compliance
Sustainable Design/LEED - Application of sustainable strategies
The Team
The Mechanical Buildings Design Group provides HVAC and plumbing solutions for Black & Veatch's 3 market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In in this role, you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe. From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of the following areas:
NFPA standards
Computer generated HVAC Heatloads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing
Technical Submittal reviewing process Bid reviewing process
Microsoft Office Suite
Bluebeam Revu
Person needs to be a LEED AP certified professional experienced in obtaining LEED's certification for industrial buildings.
Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred. ??
International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes
ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards
ASPE design handbooks
SMACNA Standards
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
Minimum of 5 years related work experience
